Community – both the land and its people – is the basis for our lives: by building and strengthening these relationships we deepen our connection to the “spirit of the land”.
Just as a natural ecology is strengthened by diversity and healthy interdependent relationships, so too is a classroom. To help broaden our classroom ‘ecology’ everyone is invited — rural, urban, indigenous, non-indigenous, young and old. We will meet in smaller groups for discussion, share meals together, and hear from a variety of speakers from the local area.
This fostering of community is perhaps the most important element of this project. The many gifts of a healthy and diverse community is our greatest asset towards wisely stewarding our land and resources.
